In this post, we well be taking a closer look at the SAP Mobility Solution that CNBS offers. We will be looking at what exactly it is that we can offer and how your company can benefit. We will also be taking a look at the Mobile App we developed for our amazing customer, Royal Cup Coffee and how it works.
What We Can Offer
CNBS’ Mobility Solution integrates SAP, in real time, with a mobile application you and your workforce can use anywhere, anytime. We take SAP: simplify it, mobilize it and customize it to allow your workforce to access the most complete and up-to-date information. All our apps are custom built and tailored to each individual customer’s needs. We have created many different apps across a wide array of industries and each app we create is customized for each individual customer. By giving your workforce the tools that solve their individual problems anywhere, the whole business process becomes leaner, faster and smarter.
CNBS’ mobile solution is crafted by experts in the field. We automate SAP processes, plain and simple. While every company has a similar set of business process, each company has their own ways of completing these business processes. We can individually customize each aspect of your business and put it into a mobile app package. Don’t think of our application as one app, it is 40 apps being packaged into one application that can be used for many different business processes but all are within the same app and SAP system. With certain apps being turned off and on for users within the app, we can tailor the app to show only what information the user needs to see.
For example, take a business process like tracking and maintaining inventory. We can tailor the app to whatever way your company goes about counting it and tracking it. Types of Mobile Solutions
Our application are more or less put into two categories: SAP process apps and dashboard apps. SAP process apps deal with the back and forth communication of complex SAP data. Our mobile app and SAP well be communicating constantly, sending whatever information you need back and forth as soon as you hit a button. Because our solution resides directly within SAP, this communication happens instantly meaning no data loss or middle-ware, your information is always 100% secure and up to date. While this app solution is mostly tied to the SAP processes and its role in sales and distribution, it can be used elsewhere. Tracking materials, sales orders, inventory and the movements between are all covered and tracked within our Apps and SAP.
Our other apps we provide are dashboard apps, these deal mostly with SAP sending data to the mobile application and us displaying the complex data in a user-friendly way. There is no communication however from the mobile phone back into SAP. This solution is best used for something like managing and creating catalogs that are easy for consumers and employees to view and interact with. Large amounts of complex SAP data can be simplified and shown in a very user-friendly and stylish catalog. Another example would be displaying a dashboard that shows information about your workforce, where they are at on projects, or where they are located out in the field. These dashboards can be fully customized to show the data that is most important to each individual user when making critical decisions about the workforce.
Royal Cup Coffee Mobile App Example
Over the past 100 years, Royal Cup has grown from a small family company to a multi-national distributor of the world’s finest coffees and teas. Royal Cup serves thousands of customers in the food service, office and specialty coffee markets. Royal Cup relies on the best companies to help stay true to their motto “Serve Them Well.” CNBS has had a partnership with Royal Cup since 2013 and we have helped serve them well since. CNBS has provided payment portals, e-commerce and mobility solutions for Royal Cup.
Our SAP Mobility solution for Royal Cup launched in 2017. Royal Cup needed an application that fixed many of their mobility issues regarding their field technicians. The technicians had trouble accessing SAP data which caused several challenges. There was no visibility into each trucks inventory levels which led to technicians running out of parts resulting in longer repair times and lost revenue. Because the inventory process was cataloged using paper and pen, there were often mistakes and inaccuracies on inventory levels and replenishment cycles.
CNBS provided Royal Cup a mobile application that delivered on fixing many of the challenges that the company and technicians faces. The service workforce business processes were simplified and corrected. We provided easy ways to create and fill service orders, allowed for the managing of local inventory and transfers, and provided a clear view of each technicians parts and equipment on board their truck. By providing Royal Cup with these mobile solutions, their response times improved and efficiencies around inventory levels were significantly better. Unscheduled visits and call times were greatly improved with geo-location capabilities. The overall business process became smarter, more connected and easier for the whole workforce.
How the Application Works
The application has notification screens that appear in the app and notify field technicians about jobs to repair, install, or replace equipment at customer locations. The technician has the ability to accept, reject, or delay notifications. If accepted, the app creates a new service order for that customer. All data is being pulled directly from SAP so there is no repetitive data entry. The technician can perform the work, enter in the parts and equipment used for the job, and the amount of labor time spent on site. This then completes the service order and creates an invoice and documents for the customer automatically. The customer can sign on the mobile application and they are emailed the paperwork.
The app also handles tracking inventory and equipment levels for both the technician and customer. When a technician installs a piece of equipment at the customers location, the equipment moves from their inventory, on their truck, to the customer. This allows Royal Cup to know where all equipment is at all times, whether on trucks, at the warehouse, or installed a customer location. This is critical because the majority of the time, Royal Cup is loaning the equipment to the customer as long as the customer purchases coffee and tea supplies from them. They own this equipment so they need to know where it is. They can also use this tool to see history on the customer and equipment. How many repairs have been done and what types of repairs. If equipment is often breaking down, Royal Cup can now identify this and take steps to correct the issue.
Technicians can track inventory levels on their truck. They can set par amounts for how many pieces of a particular part they need to have with them at all times. If levels drop below par, a re-order of parts will be placed so they can increase their inventory levels. This ensures that when they go to a customers location, they will always have the parts they need to do their job which eliminates the scenario where they go to a location, then have to go back out and get a part.
This is just some of the main features but this only scratches the service on what the application can do. What is great about these applications is you can instantly see the ROI on a project like this when you are saving the workforce time, making processes more efficient, and ultimately, giving their customers a better experience.
